Media and content business

One system for content operations

One dashboard for a media and content business: planning, assets, review and publishing in one place instead of a stack of separate tools.

Starting point
Planning, assets, review and publishing in separate tools; status by email and chat.
What we built
One dashboard with defined stages and a data layer that keeps status current.
What changed
One view of what is in progress, in review and scheduled.
  1. Stage one: the piece is planned. Why it helps: Nothing starts without a slot, so nothing gets forgotten.

  2. In production, with its assets attached. Why it helps: Files stay with the piece instead of in someone's inbox.

  3. Waiting for approval. Why it helps: Approvals happen in one place, not in email threads.

  4. Approved and scheduled. Why it helps: The date is set once and kept.

  5. Published. Why it helps: Goes out on time without anyone watching the clock.

  6. Every piece and its stage in one view. Why it helps: No status meetings: everyone sees where things stand.

Fig. 03 Five stages, one dashboard: planned, in production, in review, scheduled, published.

Starting point

Planning lived in one tool, assets in another, review in email and chat, and publishing was done by hand. No view showed what was in progress, waiting for approval or scheduled next.

What we built

One dashboard instead of the separate tools. Every piece moves through defined stages (planned, in production, in review, scheduled, published) with its assets attached. A data layer underneath keeps the status of every piece current.

What changed

The team works from one view. Anyone can see the status without asking around, and publishing no longer waits for a manual handoff.

Built with

  • Dashboard with five defined stages
  • Assets attached to each stage
  • Data layer that keeps every status current
